Participate - become involved by volunteering

We have an ever-present need to increase the size of our team of volunteers to assist with all of our fundraising efforts as well as number of other related activities. If you have time to spare, and would like to help move the project onward and upward towards its eventual ambition of both restoring and regenerating Birnbeck Pier and Island, please don't hesitate to contact us at:

Do you have fond memories of Birnbeck Pier?

We are especially interested in hearing of first-hand personal experiences concerning Birnbeck. If you would like to share these with us, or any old photographs or documents which you may have in your possession, please don't hesitate to contact us.

In the first instance please contact:

archive@birnbeckregenerationtrust.org.uk

We can arrange to have a member of our historical research team visit you personally to collect anything you might wish to share with us. Donated photographs are particularly welcome!

Do you wish to become a Birnbeck Regeneration Trust Trustee?

Currently, the Trust has a full compliment of Trustees. To become a Trustee, subject to election by formal process at our Annual General Meetings, we would ask potential candidates to serve at least 6 months with the Trust as a volunteer in order to fully understand the aims and workings of the organisation, and to mutually ensure that you can dedicate the time required. The Trust, by necessity, needs a 'hands on' attitude from all its volunteers.

If you would like to apply to become Trustee in the future please e-mail:

Pier View Photo #1

The Birnbeck Regeneration Trust works in partnership with the Friends of the Old Pier Society, its sister organisation, to raise funds for the main aim of regenerating Birnbeck Pier. The Friends of the Old Pier Society is a not-for-profit organization, formed in 1996. The Friends' main objective is now to be able to help fund the restoration of Birnbeck Island's iconic Clock Tower as soon as this is practically possible; and then to see the whole site restored to its former glory. Its shared base of public operations is Pier View, situated at the landward end of the pier itself.

Please also visit the Friends of the Old Pier Society website. You can join the Society there - they have an online registration and payment system (via Paypal) on their Contact page. Membership forms are also available at Pier View.

Friends of the Old Pier Annual Membership Rates:

Additional donations are always gratefully received - these form an important part of the overall fundraising effort.
